My First Week
Friday, March 26, 2004
I'm finishing up my first week at ThoughtWorks. I couldn't be happier. I've spent the last three days with my new laptop teaching myself C# on Visual Studio with NUnit. And when I say teaching myself, I mean reading and coding for a while, and then harrassing Mike Two for a while. Mike is one of the authors of NUnit and is sitting about 4 feet away from me. I like working at ThoughtWorks...they're paying me to do something I would pay to do.

Congrats again on your new employment. Enjoy the learning and the people, Thoughtworks sounds like a terrific place. If I had to live in Chicago, I would probably be envious!

Pat, I, for one, wish that you *had* to live in Chicago like I do. Not to incite your jealousy, but so that we could hang out!

It'd be great to hang out, and I'm sure Chicago's a great city. It is certainly on my list of places I'd like to visit. But I'm native Floridian, and the older I get, the more valuable that seems to me - the weather's great right here now, and it's my birthright to enjoy what so many of your neighbors come down to sample. Maybe we could do an exchange program some time, we come up there, you come down here.
