There's no such thing as a conflict
Thursday, May 13, 2004
Laurent finished an interesting post with an interesting idea:
"Conflict is a particular form of stuckness in which two people (or two distinct "camps") each get stuck on a different intermediate solution to a larger problem that they have lost sight of."
I'm going to be on the lookout for these "larger problems" that two people in conflict are unknowingly trying to solve. If one could keep this idea in mind, it seems likely that the conflictual interaction might take a more collaborative direction.
