We are a human-centered company. While we share our planet and this universe with many other organisms and entities, we choose to focus on humans.

We believe that there are innumerable people who have hidden capabilities. These capabilities may even be hidden from the people who possess them. Humanity's future depends on activating these hidden capabilities.

Latent

There are many hindrances in our societies, our professional lives, and our personal lives that "leash" us, holding us back. We seek to remove those hindrances so people can leap ahead.

Human

While our business depends on us being smart, capable, and skilled technologists, we are more interested in what we have yet to learn. We believe that humans and our civilizations are capable of reaching unimaginable heights.

Potential

Our values guide everything we do at Red Squirrel.

  • Each of us can be trusted to do our best work without having to be micromanaged. The best way to sustain this trust is via habits, practices, and tools that create transparency into our work.

  • We may appear to be kind, but we take it one layer deeper. We are empathic. We seek to understand the perspectives of our coworkers and clients. We have the ability to listen to and connect with how they're feeling, giving us insights into what they're communicating, and what they need to hear from us.

  • Each of us should be able to fit our work into our unique living situation, with the understanding that each mode has a weekly billable target. We celebrate a wide variety of geographies, family responsibilities, recreational activities, and side hustles.

  • We work in a field that is constantly changing and with clients who are depending on us to discern what they need. Without the courage to be vulnerable and ask questions in the face of this pressure, we suffer through fearful, solitary days, struggling to solve problems, isolated from each other. Instead, we celebrate courageous curiosity and seek to engender more of it by consistently responding with non-judgmental support when we ask each other for help.

  • When we show up for work, we seek to bring in as much of ourselves as we can. Bringing only a narrow slice of ourselves to work means that we have to spend energy covering the rest of ourselves from our coworkers and clients. We recognize that underrepresented aspects of ourselves are scarier to bring to work, so we strive to create a space where people feel increasingly safe to show up completely.

  • We support and encourage every Squirrel on their journey toward what's next for them. This support might be our shared enthusiasm for a hobby that another Squirrel is aspiring to adopt. This support might be creating a roadmap with another Squirrel to help them land a new job that has been a lifelong dream. Living our Purpose means that we will often be a stepping stone for people as they unleash their own potential.
